SAVE THE PUPPIES!! So far we have 10 pups sponsored!
The Magnolia Chapter has the opportunity to send puppies to a neighboring rescue group for adoption. These are puppies in kill facilities that will not survive unless pulled. Our fosters are full so this is a terrific opportunity to save puppies. The pups need a $30 sponsorship to cover spay/neuter and vaccination. If you can sponsor a puppy, please make your check payable to Coast Veterinary Hospital and mail it to Humane Society of Louisiana, Magnolia Chapter, P O Box 854, Franklinton, La. 70438.

We hope to add foster homes to our program in 2012. If you are interested in being a Magnolia foster call us at 985-241-4290.

If you would like to help, contact us at magnoliahumane@yahoo.com Donations may be mailed to Humane Society of Louisiana, Magnolia Chapter, PO Box 854, Franklinton, La. 70438.

If you have a barn, we have a cat for you. Cause "Every Barn Needs A Cat". We place spayed/neutered, vaccinated free roaming cats in barns at no charge through our "Every Barn Needs A Cat" program. If you have a barn and are willing to provide water and food for a cat (or cats) , please call 985-335-0758 or 985-886-8871 for more info.

Magnolia has many adult cats and dogs available for adoption. Many times they are overlooked in favor of those cute little puppies and kittens. Please think about taking a second look at the older cats and dogs if you are ready to add a member to your family. They are already litter box or house trained and aren't teething. They are very grateful for a home of their own because they know what it is like to not have one.

$50 ADOPTION FEE FOR  CATS INCLUDES SPAY/NEUTER, FLEA TREATMENT, WORMING AND CURRENT VACCINATIONS. $75 FEE FOR DOGS INCLUDES THE SAME PLUS A MICROCHIP.

Note: We are a "no-kill" foster based rescue. We only euthanize sick or injured cats and dogs that are too ill or injured to save. We frequently pull dogs from Bogalusa Animal Control in order to save them from euthanasia. If we do not find homes for the dogs and cats we take in, they live with us forever.

For more info on any of the above, call (985) 241-4290 or email magnoliahumane@yahoo.com

If you or someone you know can foster or adopt a cat at this time, please call us at (985)241-4290 or call Kay at (985) 335-0758.

The Magnolia Chapter has been approved to be a PetSmart adoption partner. Come see us on Sundays from 11 am til 4 pm at the Covington PetSmart store.

The Magnolia Chapter was formed in the spring of 2008 by a group of people concerned about the large number of un-neutered, un-spayed roaming and/or abandoned cats and dogs in our community.

Our mission statement:"To establish a fund for emergency animal rescue and care, while reducing the numbers of unwanted animals in Washington Parish through education, spay/neuter programs and adoption/foster programs."
